He was a great leader and revolucionario who fought againts overwhelming odds to free his country from tyranny and imperialism, sadly he ended up becoming what he hated and cuban people paid and are still paying the price.

- On top of the usual complaints with communism (taking of property, people having little choice in life, etc.)
The good:
- Provided good healthcare and adequate/ok education for the population, in a part of the world that has struggled with both
- Stopped imperialism/exploitation of the island

Siad Barre made a dumb mistake though. Burning bridges with Moscow and kicking all the Russians and Cubans from Mogadishu instead of negotiating a settlement from a position of strength ultimately destroyed Somalia. Being arrogant as hell. Jimmy Carter was never going to arm and fund Somalia.

Wow. Interesting. Siad Barre wasn't perfect and had his flaws but fam this a war to reclaim our lands. All differences aside. It's still fukk Fidel and the Russians. He fukked up by trusting international players.

But being greedy and telling the USSR to fukk off was stupid. Somalia didn't have any big backing and the war ended up destroying the economy and eventually the state bro

Actually he didn't want to exterminate gay's, investigated into the camps, stoped them, and gradually became progressive on Gay's and Transgenders (which the TLR people praising him wouldn't like) and admitted his fault in the mentality from the revolution that lead to that.
