No. These major record labels want people like NBA youngboy to highlight the lower aspects of our communities. Not only highlight them but romanticize.

This type of music and messages wasn't really started until the crack epidemic. Black music pre 80s was about love and positivity.

Ywah, even back in violent times of the 70s and before, even the most vile gangsta knew to drop that behavior in the booth because they saw music as something SACRED, like going to church.

NWA "nikkaz 4 Life" mentality from 91 onwards, really stagnated black culture as a whole.
