things you named go to balance and attributes.. we are specifically talking about FEATURES

we have 60 gb bluray discs now breh... i LOVE fighters

but why is EVERY fighter limited to 10-15 people, 3 suits a piece, no upgrades or armor or attribute changes.. not too many new people.. not too many new moves
Because:

A) Fighting games are fukking expensive to produce and they don't make the money back immediately the warrant the costs, as fighting games are a long term/slow burning sales cycle. Thus the boom in DLC for fighting games as that's a viable approach to supporting a game post-launch with content, for little risk.
B) There are games that have these 'attribute/stat' change modes for you. BlazBlue: CP, Ultimax, GG Xrd, Smash all have these in their Abyss Modes. They're very good.
C) Reception to newcomers has always been sour in fighting games. Look at 3rd Strike, Tekken 4, Soul Calibur 5 or--more recently--Mortal Kombat X. People would rather have all of the ninjas in the rainbow instead of newcomers so they have to make a balance.

It's not like developers AREN'T doing these things, people like you and I who love fighters aren't receptive of them at all.

don't give me no damn health management after 20 years of fighting games... i don't care if only 10 fighters are great in the game... can i have the option of playing with 20-50 damn people please? you know since i'll be spending a lot of time playing this online or by my damn self

Fighting game characters are expensive to produce.

can i get a story for my characters, that plays out a little in 1 player mode

No one cares about story in fighting games. If you want a fighting game with story, play the NetherRealm titles, the Arc System Works games or better yet--a character action game.

if i'm only gonna get 15 people, can i get some clothing changes... if we gonna have the same matches for the next year of playing, it'd be nice to have a little variety by switching up suits to give you different powers and shyt

That fukks up the competitive aspect of fighters to have customizable attributes. It's one of the reasons why default weapons are only allowed in competitive Soul Calibur and why SFxT was canned very quickly, because of Gems.

Fighting game developers aren't making these games like that.

again... nobody is saying they are the same games.. . what we are saying is other genre's have come so far from the 90s... there's NO reason SF2 came on on SNES and it's now PS4 era and we playing SF5... and when i ask what's different from the first one... i get back... health management and spacing and cross ups

Character action games are your thing then. Devil May Cry, Bayonetta, Ninja Gaiden--all the technicalities and complexity of a fighting game, but are meant to be played solo.

no fukk THAT... there should be about 10 new fighters out, all on some different shyt with new ideas... right now we got like 4 and 2 of them the same damn ones we had on 16 bit

...There....are????

Seriously if you're complaining that fighting games as a genre aren't trying anything new, look at:
Under Night-In Birth: EXE.late
Anarchy Reigns
Gundam Vs
Xenoverse
Pokken
Guilty Gear Xrd
Mortal Kombat X (the variation system is new to the genre completely.)
Rivals of Aether

Eight games, brand new ideas and approaches to the fighting game genre.

I think it's absurd that any fighting game this gen does not include a create your own fighter option. The majority of games that are made now do little for single players.

It's safe to say that next gen doesn't mean new ideas or gameplay but only better graphics.

Motion Capture has just started for the DLC characters not even a week after the game went gold. Tanya in MKX's story mode is using different moves from diferent characters. Use google. :Pachaha:

In regards to cost consider what you're actually GETTING in the Kombat Pack.

4 characters for $30, and a bunch of costumes. Not to mention you don't HAVE to pay for the characters immediately, you can try them before you buy. DLC has been notoriously cheap for fighting games in comparison to other genres (unless you're Arc. System Works.) You would know that.

After being redirected to download the game from Steam, since there was nothing placed on the actual physical disc, of which I had purchased to avoid any possible download interruptions, that had been plaguing PC users. Browsing the game’s installation folder in order to apply a fix to it’s disorienting frame-rate cap, half of the aforementioned content seemed to already be available.

Looking at the screenshot above, taken from my PC desktop, assets indicating Goro and Jason, as well as future DLC content regarding Kung Lao, Jax, Kenshi, Mileena, and many many others appear to already be pre-installed with the base game.

Pre-orders regarding Mortal Kombat X giving consumers access to Goro, and a season pass granting future access to four upcoming characters, two of which by the name of Jason Vorhees and John McTiernan’s Predator seem like an interesting buying option as well as an interesting fit for the Mortal Kombat series. Keeping the majority of which, being locked behind a pay wall, pre-installed from day one, doesn’t seem very consumer friendly.

MKX's budget was probably in the $50 million range if not more. So no, they aren't ripping anyone off pricing it at $60. The DLC is a ripoff though.

So you choose to get mad over a pretty common practice in DLC production?

You know what's consumer friendly? The PS4 version of MKX being region locked. The 'easier fatality inpu't consumable. The fact that the PC version is fukking broken right now.

If you cared so much about MKX being a ripoff you would actually find more articles to blindly copy/paste like you have a damn clue on what the fukk you're talking about. :pachaha:

I just wished 2 player CO OP Beat 'Em Ups would have evolved. Games like Streets of Rage and Urban Reign were legit fun back in the day to a nikka. shyt would have been :blessed: seeing how those games would have evolved.

Hitting multiple nikkas with bottles or lead pipes in interactive 3D environments with PS3/PS4 graphics :mjcry:

As for the thread, I don't see anything wrong with wanting fighting games to have a dope story mode and extra cool features as long as it's well thought out and balanced. That's like bagging a fine ass chick that can cook and play sports. Games like Injustice and the last DOA that came out all get burn from me because of that. Street Alpha 3 did as well when it came out which had that World Tour mode where you can upgrade your player and shyt.

But on the flip side, some fighting games just aren't meant for all those extra features. For example, In theory MK basketball sounds dope, but how the hell would that shyt really turn out. I mean it would have to be some 1 on 1 or 2 on 2 type of sub game with nikkas doing all types of fukkery. Do nikkas really wanna see Raiden take the ball up court by doing that superman rush move. :mjlol: Johnny Cage doing shadow cross overs. shyt like that needs it's own game, but then who would actually buy a game just for that. :heh:
Tekken pulled shyt off like that, but that doesn't mean it's for everybody. :manny:
