HE GOT him. you know it wasnt a thrown match because Daigo almost perfected Lupe in one of the matches. I think lu won off the fact Daigo wasnt used to this new SF game yet. and at the end of the day. if you know all the technical stuff about the game and you're highly intelligent(know how to out think your opponent.) it becomes chess more so than a fighting game. see these superstar fighting game dudes are so good for 2 reasons. well 3. 1. they play it a lot more than the average joe. #2. They get use to the video gamey nuances, like when you swing at a guy and should've hit him but you dont. They figure that distance out and know those game glitches. and they know how to abuse it. no game is made perfect and they know this. #3. They are also really smart dudes when it comes to be strategic.

well #1 and #2 were off the books for Daigo and Lupe. so it boiled down to #3. Lupe got him. barely. but he got him. now in the beginning i think Daigo was kind of letting him get some. and he had to show lu, i'm still the best at it. which is when he almost hit him with the perfect match. But lu actually switched it up at the right time to keep D guessing. and some of it was pure luck. it is a guessing game.
