Auburn almost.losing to a bottom of the barrel PAC 12 team in Washington state.

Florida losing to a FCS team and a horrible acc team in Miami

Clemson beating LSU
.

Two teams from the big 12 Texas a&m and Missouri dominating in two years.

Nebraska a garbage Nebraska team beating Georgia .

Duke almost beating a&m

Alabama losing to a Oklahoma team that struggled on offense all year.

The cloak of invincibility that surrounded the sec has been torn .

Sec doesn't have great defenses they just play against crappy offenses that further inflate their stats. No coincidence as soon as offensive wizards malzahn and sumlin take the head of big 12 teams the stats and ppg :wow:. Once urban left Florida their offense goes to doo doo.

Once les hires a oc, that stagnant LSU offense is suddenly explosive.

Even the gawd nick saban has lost his last two games.

The SEC has won the last 7 NCs.

Georgia had a ton of injuries this year. A healthy Georgia would have destroyed Nebraska and would have won the SEC East. As a matter of fact, a healthy Georgia would probably be playing FSU right now in the NC.

Clemson and FSU are quasi-SEC teams. Jimbo Fisher comes from the Saban coaching tree, as does Mike Dantonio from Michigan State.

Florida, in general, has suffered because Jimbo is winning the recruiting wars at FSU. FSU is the school of choice for top talent in Florida right now. They had a few down years, which is why Florida was able to steal great recruits. Players like CJ Spiller would have been at FSU, instead of Clemson, if Jimbo had been at the helm a few years ago.

The SEC isn't falling off. It's just that the SEC's model is being copied across the nation.

Wouldn't surprise me if Texas hires a coach to turn Texas into a quasi-SEC team.

Larry Holmes held the heavyweight belt for 7 years as well.

Lol at quasi sec teams

Florida is still filled with 4 and 5 star recruits

Breh. Aaron Murray wasn't even playing in the game against Nebraska. :wtb:

Martinez wasn't playing, either. But, a healthy UGA would have won against a healthy Nebraska.

Their two-headed RB attack suffered when Marshall went down earlier this season.

Georgia was a few yards from beating Alabama in the SEC Championship last year and would have destroyed Notre Dame. UGA brought most of their team back this year, but suffered a lot of key injuries on both sides of the ball.

Yes. Both Jimbo and Dabo are SEC guys. Jimbo spent more than a decade coaching (LSU, Auburn) in the SEC prior to coming to FSU. Dabo also spent more than a decade coaching (Alabama) in the SEC prior to coming to Clemson.

They went to those ACC programs and turned them into quasi-SEC programs.

Fisher may not think so -- or be willing to admit it --€“ but there are plenty of ties between Florida State and the SEC.

Florida State is an Atlantic Coast Conference team, but Tallahassee is located in the heart of SEC country with Gainesville 150 miles to the southeast and Auburn about 200 miles north.

Fisher was an SEC assistant for 13 years, first at Auburn 1993-98 and then at LSU from 2000-06. He's rebuilt Florida State by using his recruiting ties within Florida but also in Alabama.

He grabbed defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt off the Crimson Tide staff after they won a second national title, and recruiting coordinator Tim Brewster was previously at Mississippi State. Of the six assistant coaches Fisher hired in the offseason, five of them left an SEC school to come to Tallahassee.
