If Rooney isn't producing he will sit. He's got world class competition at both striker and playmaker. If Mata and Falcao are in form, they are gonna play and a healthy RVP definitely ain't sitting under Van Gaal. Beckham was once the face of the club and was benched a few times near the end of his United run.

Rooney has been declining for a while ago. I've read that he doesn't even trackback anymore. He's talented but lazy and overpaid. Man utd should have sold him when they had the chance. RvP is a better striker.
