A bone in ribeye will have much more flavor than straight up filet mignon. Bone and fat is what transfers flavor to the meat and a filet has neither. Thats why you usually see filet mignon with a bacon wrap, peppercorn crust, topped with garlic butter, with gorgonzola crumbles, etc..

Only filet mignon from a top shelf restaurant is worth the money. Most other places are serving you a bland overpriced cut of meat.

I'll agree with this. The fillet mignon is the most tender but it is not the most flavorful due to its lack of fat content. That ribeye with marbleized fat has more flavor.

Porter house = best of both worlds with meat form the lean and fatty part of the cow
