1. Meek pays for a feature on his song. Not for Drake to sit down and write. Nowhere in a contract for features, if there even was one in this case, does it say the artist had to write the verse themselves.
2. We all heard the reference track. Drake maybe used 6 bars in a 24 bar verse.
3. Drake Rico verse>>>Meek Rico verse
There was nothing for Meek to get agg about in regards to the Rico verse. That argument is grasping at straws.
This is rap. Like I siad, a certain code exists in the genre for a reason. Rap songs are more a connection of minds then they are just features. No one thinks of a track like Black Republicans and would respect it if it had ghost writers. That's a song with Jay and Nas connecting and spitting.
2. We heard the reference. Or a piece of it. We don't know if he got the flow, and some lyrics with QM penning the rest. And you'd have to understand why people don't wanna give him the benefit of the doubt, the same way I understand the people who are willing to.
3. Meeks verse was better, even with the writers.
As a rapper/writer/poet he has every reason to be angry about it.
