Honestly, this could make for a decent experience on handheld. Playing in Docked would feel rough tbh

No, you don’t need to play the original. How would that make financial sense to the developers?Do I need to play the original final fantasy 7 before playing the remake? Asking those that played both the original and parts 1 and 2. Isn't part 1 and 2 the original game's story with updated graphics with part 3 concluding the story? I don't want to play the original and spoil the remakes' stories or play the remakes and spoil the original's story. I always wanted to play the original but decided to play the remakes instead because I assumed the stories were exactly the same as the original split into 3 parts.
I'm asking because I read some saying the remakes' stories are different than the original and are basically sequels within the same universe. Some suggested playing the original to add context to the remakes' stories. I wanted to play the original since that' considered to be one of the greatest games of all time and I assumed the remakes's stories were exactly the same as that game's story with updated graphics so I decided to play those instead. I don't want to play the original knowing the remakes' stories are exactly the same. I wanted to clarify here because there were spoilers that I'm trying to avoid when reading discussions about the games. No, you don’t need to play the original. How would you spoil a story if you played it originally? It's a remake, not a new game so knowing what ultimately happens doesn't matter.Do I need to play the original final fantasy 7 before playing the remake and rebirth? Knowing the original's story spoils the remake's story if they are exactly the same because I know what will occur. I would rather play a game not knowing the story. That's why I'm asking because I would rather play the remake with the updated graphics if the story is exactly the same as the original. I am not only talking about the remake, I'm also talking about rebirth. Now if there are some differences, I think I'll play the remakes then the original after completing part 3 or play the original then the remakes. That's what I'm trying to decide. That wasn't the plan before because I assumed the stories were exactly the same. How would you spoil a story if you played it originally? That being said, playing the original back then would've been nice as you'd appreciate the parts where you see what somewhere from the old one looks now on this version.
The remake follows the main story but there were some controversial changes that seems to be the point of debate between hardcore fans. For me it doesn't matter, I just enjoyed the ride. Others are so bothered that they ignore everything else that makes the game good just to complain about a few things that were changed(for now...).
lol breh, knowing the game's story for a remake doesn't make the game less enjoyable. I didn't finish the original FFVII (got to somewhere on disc 2 back then) but then started it up again before Rebirth and got past to where Rebirth ends on the original. There's more fleshed out scenes/details in the remake than the original so even if you know the story you still will be surprised at some other things. Either way you're still going to go into a game knowing the other's story. If you play Remake first then go back to the OG, you'll know what's supposed to happen.Knowing the original's story spoils the remake's story if they are exactly the same because I know what will occur. You don’t need to but you really should. Remake was my first FF game and there was some important parts of the game that I didn’t understand or appreciate until after I played the OG and went back and played Remake.Do I need to play the original final fantasy 7 before playing the remake and rebirth? I don’t think I ever finished the OG ff7…I just watched the abridged version on YouTube and got some laugh in…but they basically did the story justice. You don’t need to but you really should.
