I wouldn't buy it, half the people that are buying this new remake wouldn't either.
Especially when fans do those exact kinds of PC Mods for FF7 already for free. People want the exact same thing with a new coat of paint, and sometimes that does more harm than good, because what worked in 1997 with polygons might not work at all for remodelled HD graphics in 2020.
That's why a lot of the Wall Market itself is expanded and reworked. And this is why people also think Midgar is literally going to be a 10 hour experience. They're thinking it's going to be a 1:1 kind of deal, when converting things into a realistic HD game in this era would naturally make things WAY bigger. Drawn backgrounds back in the day may have flown, but if the rooms and areas were the same size, I don't see many people feeling pleased about it.
It reminds me of how some people think linear = bad, when FFX was linear but didn't feel like it was. In fact, FF7's Midgar is pretty linear too, but it never felt that way. So now, they have to expand Midgar even more because if they don't, the pacing will be off and people wouldn't be happy with it at all.
