Done a playthrough of the demo on all difficulties and I don't see how anybody is having any problem, especially with the amount of items lying about

Starting off every battle with Barrett was key for me. Overcharge followed by an ability almost straight off the bat, then switching to Cloud :blessed:

So I just played this demo yet again and I love it.

I noticed a few things though.

1. Normal mode it takes a whole lot longer to kill enemies. Enemies that take a long time to kill make hack and slash a better experience. In KH I was whopping ass on normal like nothing.

2. Barrett takes a year and a day to get his ATB up when you’re not him. I was looking at his ATB and it wasn’t going anywhere for some reason. I see him shooting, but wtf.

So it seems to have other characters increase their ATB fast, you’ll have to play as them rather than wait for it while playing as Cloud.

This game is good af!!

ATB increases tenfold when blocking

My concerns for FF7 isn't with this game actually, I know it'll be fine.

I'm worried about how they are going to handle going forward.

Will my items and data carry over to the next games?

What level will I start out at?

If I max out a character this episode, will they be level 1 next episode?

facts...this is the only thing I'm worried about because no doubt by the time you finish this part you should have some crazy materia and be maxed out...it would be sh'tty if they capped the levels etc but I doubt they would do that...

It should definitely carry over no problem. Isn’t that how the last ones worked? I didn’t play the OG version enough, but I assume it’ll be the same experience.

mate if you don't know what you're talking about just be quiet...you're wasting thread space...this post doesn't even make 1% of sense

materia is flexible and customizable as you want it to be.

in my old game, I had Cloud as a physical power house with the only magic he used being E. Skill

made Aeris/Tifa my healer

Vincent was a mix of spells/physical.

Barret was all physical.

Never really bothered with the other characters, beyond getting their specials for completions sake

stats wise it goes

Luck: Yuffie > Cait/Vincent/Tifa > Cloud > Aerith/Red > Cid/Barret

Dexterity: Red > Yuffie > Tifa > Cloud > Cid > Aerith/Vincent/Cait > Barret

Spirit: Aerith > Cloud/Vincent/Cait > Red/Tifa > Yuffie > Cid > Barret

Magic: Aerith >Cloud > Vincent/Cait >Yuffie > Red >Tifa >Cid >Barret

HP: Barret > Red > Cloud >Cid > Cait >Tifa >Yuffie >Aerith >Vincent

MP: Aerith > Vincent > Cloud > Cait > Red >Tifa >Yuffie > Cid > Barret

Strength: Cloud > Barret > Tifa > Cid > Red > Yuffie > Cait > Vincent > Aerith

Vitality: Barret > Cid > Cloud > Red > Tifa/Yuffie > Aerith > Cait/Vincent

vincent and barret are the only characters that can overflow with their ultimate weapons

and in terms of limit breaks, top 5 imo goes

TIER 1
aerith - great gospel (it makes you god basically)

TIER 2
cloud - omnislash
barret - ungarmax
cid - highwind

TIER 3
yuffie - doom of the living

I naturally ran a team of cloud/barret/cid when I was a kid and have never changed even though it seems like cloud/barret/(cid, yuffie or redxiii) may be the best combo of party members :yeshrug:

The original versions were just one complete story spread throughout disk.

Episode 2 could and will have people that didn't play episode 1 that are going to have to start out fresh.

Now they could start them with stock items and gear and at some base level but that be jarring for someone just getting into the game to start with a lvl 30 character with big numbers right out the gate
I think they’ll force you to buy each episode to continue. That’s what I think at least.

Why wouldn’t it carry it over from the first game mate?

nice breakdown. Truthfully, I only always picked three cause I thought Vincent was bad ass with the monster shyt, cloud was always a main, and tifa cause she was :shaq: to young deltron, haha

I did the exact same thing. I thought cloud, barret, cid and vincent were the coolest characters but what stopped me from picking vincent was his limit breaks. even as a kid I recognised pretty early how sh't they were (even though conceptually it was a fire idea). I just lucked out that cloud, barret and cid are basically top 3...i only really started paying attention to the meta of FF7 stats etc when I became an adult.

Crazy because this is exactly how I felt also

Is there a way to do all of that and finish the story as a whole? Or is it some you pick one option you have to keep going and pick the next option second play through?

Didn’t get far in one, but I heard you can beat the game without Vincent and Yuffie, but is it possible to get both?

In the OG FF7 there is one main story line with the option to do additional side missions throughout the game. It's not a game like New Vegas where once you side with a faction, you're essentially locked out from completing missions for opposing factions. You play as members of a crew, and it's very likely you will not see everything this game has to offer, especially without a guide. Nevertheless, it's a fun experience, and I'd recommend going in blind

Na
I wondern how they going to handle Vincent's transformations? In the original game you lost control of him when he did it. I used Frakenstein and just loaded him up on HP Plus materia

This game is going to be great i cant even hate

I believe FF8, 10 and 12 have this feature on their remastered versions too. Makes leveling up and grinding so much easier.
