Bla bla bla bla I know what they said but this is like when the girl you been wanting to fukk for the longest comes through and you end up falling asleep before for whatever reason. They have the time to waste making this dumbass debut at the keynote so theres that. None of us will ever know the true story.

It would take them 10 years minimum to make that game. Are you interested in waiting 10 years for them to remake some old ass game you already played. all the while that would take away from resources that could be used to make new games.

Look at how long it took them to make XIII, almost 4 years and that game is linear as hell with closed off environments. Look at how long they've been developing Verses XIII which they've now re-branded XV. It's been 8 years and the game still isn't out yet. Development has spanned two to three console generations as the early talk was XIII and Verses XIII began as PS2 projects.

Its just not gonna happen and it shouldn't happen. nobody wanna be waiting till 2024 for that anyway.

Heard they don't have the raw assets from the OG game so they'd have to make everything from scratch. It'd essentially be a new game...that everyone's played before. Literally. It might not be as profitable as one would think.

The whole keynote address was not needed and looked like a fukking troll job the entire crowd was disappointed. the reason why everyone THOUGHT there was gonna be a remake was because of that ps3 tech demo they unveiled a while back. So everyone thought they was working on it in secret. I mean why unveil a tech demo of ff7 with ps3 era graphics. So everyone was led astray thinking this ff7 would be a remake with ps4 graphics...

and so everyone was so hyped for the remake that would have shattered the internet. suffice to say everyone was disappointed when they revealed the same fukking game that was just a PC port! which people already fukking HAD...

it's like a slap in the face and them laughing about it. it's like why the fukk would i want to play a ps1 era game on a fukkING PS4... SQUARE DID NOT LISTEN TO THE FANS OR THE INTERNET AT ALL. TOTALLY TONE DEAF AND OUT OF TOUCH....

they'd have to make it from scratch anyway. the old backdrops were pictures with polygons over them. they'd have to render all those environments in 3D. Final Fantasy VII was a long game with a lot of different environments. It was like a 40-50 hour game just to finish the main quest.

Our JRPGs these days that they make now in the 3D age are more like 25-30 hours to complete the main quest. the longer ones do a lot of rehashing and backtracking to get that time up. I don't remember much backtracking in Final Fantasy VII. Final Fantasy XIII for example makes you spend about 10-12 hours in Grand Pulse which was mostly just a huge open environment you ran around slaying monsters. I've seen Tales of Games get up to 30 hours with a ton of backtracking in them.

Back in the day they really had 50+ hour games with new content through that 50 hours. They don't make JRPGs like that now. Its a niche genre anyway while it was more mainstream back then.

This is like if Samsung gave a CES keynote about how they were going to recall a bunch of TVs or something. It just doesn't make any sense.

I'm pretty sure pre-orders were taken for Final Fantasy Versus XIII and that game is never coming out.
