I honestly wouldn't be surprised to see a FF7 and FFX crossover in the FF7 remake.

My mom didn't have much money this one Christmas so I only asked for a single thing.... Final Fantasy X. Even though there were other games I wanted more, I did this on purpose since I knew I would get so many hours out of it. It was my first turn based rpg besides the FFX VII demo disc way back on ps1, but I had played action rpg games like Zelda and Phantasy Star Online before. Wow... what an amazing game.

I always assumed FFX and FFX-2 were prequels to FF7. Especially the Shinra character in FFX-2.

It may be an Easter Egg but I wouldn't be surprised if it was true.

Cid in some form or fashion appears in all or damn near all of the Final Fantasy games, do not put too much meaning into it.
