In June it will have been 2 years since this released. They haven’t given any actual numbers since the first week this released.
Saying something “met expectations” isn’t saying much. How much has the game sold? Did it sell on a pace better than the previous game in the series? What did it sell on PC.

Again saying something met expectations isn’t saying anything. Expectations can be adjusted up or down to have them met after release.
Without them giving numbers that’s PR fluff. The more telling sign is a major title releases and they don’t talk about it. Companies love to talk their successes and bury their failures ask Apple with the Vision Pro.
We expected double plat....even though we really wanted that Quintuple Plat.
I want summons that I can use regularly though.

I haven't particularly cared for a FF game since 12. Needs a to return back to it's turn-based RPG roots, especially since they are clearly en-vogue again. The Final Fantasy VII remakes were really good but that game has been cooking for years and years.

Soundtrack dope.
I've been criticized for saying so but the series needs to cater to it's actual fans and stop chasing these elusive fans that deep down don't even really like the type of games this series was known for. The original fans don't want character action games they want a party based turn based RPG with a creative battle system.
They're trying to dumb the series down to widen it's appeal and they abandoned the original fans. Only a fraction of those fans bought it and this other audience they're chasing didn't seem to take to it either. They've been lost in the wilderness since after releasing X. XII was solid but it was also part of the decline that accelerated with XIII.
X really broke them.
