Well now Deen's legendary career might be tarnished. :patrice:

Tori Lux: James Deen Assaulted Me, Too

Tori Lux: James Deen Assaulted Me, Too
In an exclusive essay, Tori Lux recalls how she was violently assaulted by fellow porn star James Deen during a shoot: “James Deen ruthlessly attacked and degraded me…”

On Saturday, the adult actress, writer, and model Stoya accused her former scene partner/boyfriend James Deen, who’s been labeled porn’s “boy next door,” of rape, first tweeting, “That thing where you log in to the internet for a second and see people idolizing the guy who raped you as a feminist. That thing sucks.” Then she added, “James Deen held me down and fukked me while I said no, stop, used my safeword. I just can’t nod and smile when people bring him up anymore.”

Stoya’s allegation led other current and former adult industry performers to speak out against Deen, including industry veteran Joanna Angel, and the Twitter hashtag #SolidarityWithStoya trended worldwide.

This is Tori Lux’s story.

My name is Tori Lux, and I’m a former adult performer. In June of 2011, while shooting at a major porn studio, I was assaulted by James Deen.

While James wasn’t performing with me that day, he was present on set—and almost immediately after I’d finished my scene he began to antagonize me. I hadn’t even had time to dress myself when he said, with a smirk on his face, “Tori Lux, would you like to sniff my testicles?” “Nope,” I replied in a neutral tone. “I’ll repeat myself: Tori Lux, would you like to sniff my testicles?” he asked, more aggressively this time. I replied with a firm “No,” in order to establish my boundary—which James then disregarded by grabbing me by the throat and shoving me down onto a mattress on the floor.

He proceeded to straddle my chest, pinning down my arms with his knees. Then, he raised his hand high above his head, swinging it down and hitting me in the face and head with an open palm. He did this five or six times—hard—before finally getting off of me.

Disoriented and nursing a sore jaw, I stood up—but before I could collect myself, he grabbed me by my hair and shoved me to my knees, forcing my face into his crotch several times before shoving me to the floor. I was completely stunned, having no idea how to react. I felt pressured to maintain a professional demeanor as this was a major porn set, with other people present and failing to intervene.

A few people with whom I’ve shared this story over the years have asked me why I didn’t call the police as soon as it happened, or publicly speak up about it shortly thereafter. The reason for that is because people—including the police—tend to believe that sex workers have placed themselves in harm’s way, and therefore can’t be assaulted. Of course, this claim couldn’t be further from the truth, as being involved in sex work does not equate to being harmed. Despite porn being a legal form of sex work, and it occurring in a controlled environment such as a porn set, this blame-the-victim mentality is still inherent in much of society. In turn, sex workers are silenced and our negative experiences are swept under the rug as we try to protect ourselves from the judgment of others—or worse, a variety of problems ranging from further physical attacks to professional issues such as slander and/or blacklisting.

Simply put: I was afraid.

We are forced to smile and pretend we’re always in control and in love with our jobs, when in reality, there’s a multitude of experiences one can have on any given day of shooting—good, bad, and neutral—just like every other job. It’s not as black-and-white as people like to assume. My goal in writing this is not to paint the industry as a whole as oppressive or dangerous, but to shed some light on one fukked up personal experience of mine, in which James Deen ruthlessly attacked and degraded me, leaving me with mental wounds that took years to heal.

I hope to encourage you, the reader, to open your mind to the bigger picture regarding stigma and safety within the sex industry. Being silenced is what keeps sex workers in danger, and the stigma is what keeps sex workers silent when they’re attacked. It’s a vicious cycle, and I hope we can work together toward humanizing one another and preventing instances like this from continuing to happen.

The more I read about these allegations and the residual effects, and the more I think these white feminist women are not only crazy, but they're dangerous too. I've never been one to have a problem with interracial relationships. Like whatever, do you. I've posted about hanging out with Becky coworkers and getting "involved" with them. But always in the back of my mind there's this thought that maybe it's not such a good idea to get involved with white chicks. Reading the thoughts from the editor over at the Frisky, only confirms that. These white feminists are going the route of accusations means guilty with no proof, trial, or anything. Just an accusation. My father always did say there's nothing more dangerous than a white woman. Read this sh!t brehs and brehettes.

Why The Frisky Will No Longer Be Publishing James Deen’s Sex Advice Column - The Frisky

Sometime tomorrow, the ads on the Sex section which link out to James Deen’s website will be removed. We won’t be publishing WWJDD going forward, and I will be making a decision about how to handle the columns we’ve already published in the next day or two.

I very much liked James Deen. I enjoyed working with him on WWJDD. I asked him to do an advice column because I liked his directness and his confidence, but most of all, I liked his emphasis on communication, honesty and, most of all, CONSENT. That he has been accused of violating Stoya’s consent, that women I respect have since contacted me directly to say that they know of others to whom he has done the same thing? Well, I’m fukking heartsick over it. This makes it impossible for me to work with him any further, to give him a forum for giving advice that he is accused of not following himself. No amount of good rapport between us or traffic to his columns would EVER supersede the fact that I BELIEVE WOMEN.

I imagine there will be some who will say, “But what about James Deen’s side to this story? What about evidence?” As is the case with the vast majority of rape accusations, especially between intimate partners, Stoya’s story of being raped by James Deen is very likely the only “evidence.” He is certainly within his rights to deny it, though it’s worth noting that he and his representatives have remained mute on the matter, and James has not responded to the text message I sent him yesterday. Like so many rape cases, this will very likely be a “he said/she said” situation. And as I tweeted last night, today and every day, I BELIEVE WOMEN.

From a professional standpoint, as the editor of a women’s blog which has published the accused’s words, acting swiftly and decisively is the least that I can do. The court of public opinion is not a court of law, and I don’t need Stoya or any woman to “prove” that she has been raped for me to believe her. Women who come out as rape victims are far, far, far too often not believed. This is especially true of women who work in the sex industry, with people actually wondering aloud if porn stars can be raped. Victims are put on trial themselves, with everything they’ve ever said/done/worn suddenly under scrutiny as possible “evidence” that they are lying or that they asked for it. This occurs despite mountains of actual evidence indicating that false rape accusations are exceedingly rare.

I believe women because the vast majority of women I know have been raped or sexually assaulted by a man they knew and/or trusted. I believe women because more than a few men have shown an utter lack of respect for whether I did or could consent. I believe women because, many years ago, I did not consent and he still “couldn’t help himself.”

I BELIEVE WOMEN. Period.

ETA: I just wanted to be clear on the arrangement we had with James. Every few weeks or so, James and I would get on the phone and I would ask him a handful of questions we had received from readers. He would answer them off the cuff and I would record what he had to say. I would then transcribe his answers and edited them (for flow/clarity, not substance) into a draft, which I sent to him for approval. In exchange for giving the advice in the column, he was not paid — instead, I linked to his website at the end of each piece, and the Sex section, where the column lived, was skinned with ads linking to his site.

UPDATE (Nov. 30, 2015): After careful thought and consideration, we have decided to add the following disclaimer to all of the previously published WWJDD columns:

Editor’s Note

After multiple women accused James Deen of rape and sexual assault in November 2015, The Frisky made the immediate decision to end our affiliation with the porn star and to cancel his sex advice column with the site. In addition to believing it would be inappropriate to continue publishing sex advice from someone facing such serious allegations, The Frisky is firm in its commitment to believing and standing in solidarity with victims/survivors when they come forward. After serious consideration and input, we decided to leave the previously published columns up on The Frisky with this disclaimer, as we believe the glaring divide between Deen’s consent-focused advice and the rape allegations against him should be part of the public record. For a more thorough explanation on our decision to end this column, click here.

Considering all the men lynched, beaten, killed, strung from trees, arrested, tossed in jail, reputations destroyed if they were lucky enough not to be killed, communities destroyed, etc., .........all because some white woman made a false accusation, makes the editor's comments all the more disturbing. This is the mentality these white feminists are fostering and it's dangerous. Anybody Black wanting to be associated with them needs their thinking adjusted IMO.
