Assuming this is real, this is exactly why they took control of hip-hop in the first place.

Hip-hop is supposed to be a BENEFIT for black people. In 2017, hip-hop overall is a detriment to the black mind and image/reputation.

This is why easily 90% of mainstream hiphop glorifies an extremely "backwards" mentality aimed mainly at young black people. They don't want us to be responsible and forward thinking so the music glorifies the opposite.

They don't want our music to be a positive weapon. Most of the major themes in mainstream hip-hop glorifies a very unproductive lifestyle. This is why they give rappers who glorify that type of lifestyle the biggest platforms to influence.

Nobody can take control over the artistry of hiphop.

This is a case of the blind leading the blind, and in this case the blind being given a platform they usually dont have.

But in the case of hiphop, the blind have a platform, because the blind make up a majority of the population,so being blind is what sells the most.

I do agree hiphop can be a positive weapon, but the question is why is that weapon more powerful than the men in the community who the youth see everyday?the fathers?the uncles?cousins?older men in general like Wack. Are we still giving black men a pass for not stepping up to the plate as a collective and not having more power to effect, than a Jay-Z EP:mjlol:? are older black men still getting passes for being hypnotized by hiphop and its trappings?we gotta grow up and unite black men, stop waiting on young rappers to do your job.

I get what you saying but hip-hop is THAT powerful and influential. Hip-hop is only the most popular and influential artform on the planet.

They did indeed "take over" hip-hop in the sense that THEY control the images and messages put out in the music. They control the major media outlets and the record labels themselves thus having most of the control over mainstream rap. 9 times out of 10, there's a white man or Jew behind your favorite rapper.

Hip-hop has (or had) the potential to be one of the greatest assets of black people ever. It has the ability to literally change the mindset of an entire generation for the better. Its that powerful and influential. This 4:44 album and its impact on Wack is one very small example of the power of hip-hop.

Again, that's exactly why they took control and manipulated it to where its at today, back in the 90s with the gangster rap. They KNEW that this music had the power to motivate, uplift and inspire black people positively.

The sad part is WE don't seem to understand how powerful this artform is.
We simply dismiss it as "just entertainment"

And for the record, no its not hip-hop's responsibility to educate us, but it could be a great benefit to make seem "cool" certain themes rather than popping Molly, sipping lean and killing each other.

Of course people gonna come in here with the dumb shyt as if bragging about being a barely functional junkie isn't hot right now

4:44 is a masterpiece. Done trying to convince low vibrational losers of that fact.

It's funny how people say he just started on this wave meanwhile he been dropping gems since reasonable doubt.

Bout to bump 4:44 and do my Sunday shyt around the crib :blessed:

I agree that it is,but I think THAT is the problem. Shouldn't we be more outraged at the fact hiphop CAN be so influential, when its an easy fix for it not to be. If enlightened men and women of the community collectively decided to hold people in our direct circles accountable, and condemn behaviors, uplift and give guidance,we would begin to see immediate change. The problem is there are many enlightend in the community who just wash they hands,or keep quiet to fit in with those being self destructive.

Hiphop is only powerful due to the reach that it has. But its messages have always pretty much come from the source, which is whatever the loudest voices in the community are. And I already told you the enlightened tend to be the most quiet as church mice, while the destructive make the most noise.

also I think one fault is that you don't see how strongly intertwined the black community, has become with the white community. We only percieve it as seperate for some reason, probaly because we none of the benefits.

But every negative they have we also inherit, because what whites push to other whites still trickles down to us,and if it doesnt trickle down we will reach out on our own to embrace it. You have to begin to look at the white community and black community in america as alternate universes,we are Bizzaro superman. Rap became blood thirsty in the 90's because white america was putting out blood thirsty images through its entertainment and thriving. We glorified drug dealers, gangs and violence because they were glorifying and romanticizing the mafia.

So you see, they don't have to glorify any black images,we are victim of mass assimilation. So in turn we digest white images forced on us in exactly the same way we do back images...if you want proof just look at the gay agenda,it was pushed to whites before us,and that was enough to make some of us become more accepting. Look at the opioid epidemic, they junkies,so we junkies now. We have become more acculturated than we like to admit. Without complete seperation you really cant cure the problem.

nikkaz didn't know these things before Jay said it?

Maybe not . We are blind to alot of shyt which is why we continue to be in the collective position we're in in society.

Making being fiscally responsible seem "cool" via rap music is an awesome way to reach certain people who aren't taught about that at home or in their environments.

We are constantly taught that being dumb with our money is "cool". We're constantly being taught that throwing our money away at stripclubs and spending our money on "foreign" made objects is what's cool.

So yes, Jay Z can reach certain people in a way that others cannot.

This is why hip-hop is so effective.

none of this was on his mind at all before 4:44?:francis:

I'm pretty sure he's aware. Looks like he's just using it as some sort of angle/business opportunity.
