I couldn’t believe they dared to bite Fight Club. I refused to believe they’d actually do it. And they did.

The only truly great characters were Tyrell Wellick and his wife. Angela is a dumbass. Totally unbelievable. Speaking of unbelievable, adult Elliott looks nothing like the spawn of Christian Slater or that little cac version of himself.

I think Elliot's Mom is Latina. That explains the difference.
And at least they explained dude is on meds and legit chemically imbalanced in this and not just sleep deprived like dude in Fight Club.
