Chrome uses less resources than Firefox for single-tab browsing

Firefox uses less for multiple tabs unless Chrome has had a complete code overhaul recently

why doesn't chrome let me edit extensions like firefox/greasemonkey? is there anyway around it brehs?

I'm about to get more involved with Web building and Development. With that said, which add-ons/extensions would you recommend for Chrome?
Right now, I primarily use Firefox but I wouldn't be opposed to using Chrome eurry now and again
