put sugar/stunt glass in the ceiling, crash mat to fall on. it's not too far fetched that a "game" like that would spend that kind of money on stunt.

actually now i remeber they show him falling on the crash mat and people coming in to get him so my explanation for that seems like the right thing.

haven't watched it in ages but i think it's ALL part of the game. i can't remember if he really got shot or not but he turns up at the party afterwards so i think them saying he had a real gun was just amping up the pressure on him.

the book is crazier and darker than the movie. Can't really remember the difference but when I was younger I would read the books based on movies then watch the movies. The forrest gump book is so much mored fukked up than the movie.
