Got an meeting tomorrow with the hiring guy. It's actually not a traditional controller role and more like a project controller. Actually more like an SFO role. They created the jobs early and just opened them up. Leveraged my networking skills and had some exec call the hiring guy and put in a word for me. Then my guy who put me on met with me today and gave me all the talking points and told me the shyt I needed steer the conversation to. Finesse king. I came to Atlanta less than 4 years ago with no finance experience, a long as work history gap, and a freshly sealed record:wow:

That fake it till you make it shyt is so real. Also, this shyt don't be easy, but it don't be as hard as people think. You just gotta get in the door somehow and get exposure. Then you learn that once you in there it's all about your networking game
Can you explain your come up a bit breh? Like how did it all work out for you in finance. I'm in school rn debating between a finance degree or go with accounting, don't know just yet.

So did you get the job breh?

Man hell naw. They hating on the kid. Met with that mothafuka for like a week before the interview and he was talking like it was a done deal. Got to the panel interview and killed it. They honestly did all the talking breaking down in detail what I would be doing. But then I got an email from buddy saying I didn’t get it and told me it was lack of experience. But when I met with my homeboy who put me on he was like hell naw and said it was bullshyt.

So those people recommended me for another position and I interviewed for that and killed it. But just found out last week I didn’t get it.

In between those two, HR contacted me for another position and asked me to apply if I was interested. I applied and interviewed and didn’t get that one either.

So that’s 3 jobs in 2 months that I was recommended for that I didn’t get. I was asked to apply for all these hoes.

So my boss pulled me to the side last week and told me that it’s not me and she didn’t want to say anything, but her boss is giving me negative feedback. She told me she was in her office and she told her people were reaching out to her about me and my boss asked if she wanted my boss to provide the feedback but her boss said no. She said she is intimately by me and probably telling some bullshyt.

White bytch hating on a nikka for no reason. I do excellent work and no one can question the quality and I’ve gotten annual raise the two years I been there for good performance reviews so it has nothing to do with my work. She just don’t like that a nikka is smart and outspoken. Not passive aggressive like them other docile ass people who be in corporate. Like the butch is scared to talk to me directly; she sends messages through my boss. Guess they can’t stand when a nikka professional, not scary, and good at what he does.

So I guess I’m still learning this corporate shyt as I go. Focused on outside opportunities now cause this hoe sabotaging me. Glad my boss hipped me to game

That is the thing with cacs that I noticed, they don't practice what they preach. They say they want honesty but actively are dishonest with their intentions or actions. Passive aggressive micro actions that mean nothing by its own, can paint a new picture if you follow the pattern.

The last thing they want is a nikka in a position with authority and rock solid money who can command respect, so they have to play the "man if I could I give you the job I would" bullshyt angle.

Keep your head up. You are in an industry that will allow you a lot of lateral movement and more opportunities will come. Networking is important but people always favorites which allows candidates who are primed for the position to be skipped over.

One thing that worked for me is switching up companies completely and getting a nice hefty increase in salary. Funny thing is once you put in your two weeks and tell them you got a new position, all of sudden they are willing to negotiate and talk about restructuring the contract.

Lol this is funny cause that’s exactly how the guy explained it to me on that first job, “oh if I could I would definitely give you the job”

Yeah just got leave and switch companies. Can’t let this shyt stop a real nikka
