That's because they own the definition of what it means to be "cultured" or "high brow". I'm sure many of the posters here could write mad deconstructions of their favourite rap albums and go into depth about each and every aspect of the music, what it means, how it is significant etc., blow-for-blow with what a white dude could write about Beethoven or whoever the fukk.

But because they control what it means to be "cultured", people who don't spend their time on that orchestra crap are labelled as uncultured or low brow.
