when you have unconventional tastes you're forced to scrape through all the crap before you find those diamonds in the rough

because i'm not looking for any specific thing. I know good music when I hear it, irregardless of genre.

it's a lot easier to find music if you ONLY listen to hip hop for exmaple, but because I listen to everything, I have 100x more shyt to sift through than the average person who confines their taste to a single genre

I agree, OP. I find myself listening to 90s music more so than not. I just can't get into any of these new "artists." Even with rap music everything sounds the same. There used to be such variety of sounds, and clear distinctions between genres. Now everything is mixed together into this gray, boring sound. The artists, themselves, aren't even exciting or cool anymore. Oh well....

you really have to dig man, like really DIG to find anything worthwhile these days

good music is essential to my life so I literally spend hours out of the week on lastfm, youtube and various blogs to try and find new music and you have to trudge through so much crap just to get to the good stuff. literally 99% of it is trash

its fukked nowadays because anyone with garage band and some lame bedroom set up can make a record these days and they just dump their crap on all these music sites. at least back in the days you could walk into a record store and at least expect some modicum of quality from the records stocked there. the internet has made the barrier of entry soo low its disgusting
