I have a friend that is more successful than I am, he never went to college. He works for att and makes about 90k+ a year, he's a supervisor. I used to work there but I nvr made that much while I was there though but I did get up to abt 50k. I ended up putting my degree to use though I have more earning potential but as of now he has me beat.

North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
:heh: att supervisors make bank breh. You should do research before calling :duck: that's one of the highest paying jobs you can get without a degree

I started as a csr rep and got promoted to supervisor/manager within 18 months. I went from making $11.00 an hour as a rep to $58k as a manager

then I got too ambitions and transferred to a department that got surplused 6 months after I got there. :sadcam:

I still got my pension and 401k though. The severance package was on point too.:smugbiden:

hahaha...That's like winning the lottery...

Even people going to University for 4 years are struggling out here...

The best thing is to...
1) Know what you are about early
2) Go to a 2 year diploma college to learn whatever trade you are interested...
3) Get your 2 years working experience
4) Then do a 4 year degree in that field...

That's what I did, and it worked for me...

No school loans...No debts...

I didn't get surplussed but the new union contracts tried to screw us over good. Theres a lot of money in uverse if u can sell but I just didnt like it. Plus in order to be a sup, you had to kiss too much ass. But as far as the money you made, I believe it. Did u do sales or strictly csr? I know where I worked we did both, landline, uverse, directv, and cell phones. We ate good off of hourly pay plus bonuses.

I kinda went that route except I went to a 4 year school. I got my current job while still in school as a jr. they paid for school while I was in, and once I graduated I moved to permanent a perm salary position. I was basically a temp to perm which was contingent on graduation.(paid internship my 1st summer thru a university placement program)

I started as a CSR rep then i moved to tecnical support as a rep. I got into this manager intern program and once I finished, I interviewed and got hired. I was a manager in 3 different departments. The last one was Enterprise Technical Support (they call it something else now). I pushed to go there because I was trying to eventually go to a NOC and they was the fastest way to get there. As soon as a get there though, nikkas was transferring left and right including everyone I knew. My department reorganized under the AT&T landline side and that's when they shrunk us down. The problem with advancing so fast is that you might get let go if you have the least amount of senority. That's what happened to me. I was with them for 6 years but every other manager was there longer and had stronger relationships in that department. They got rid of one location all together and shrunk ours.

Every other department in the building I worked in slowly shrunk and/or got canned. So many people got layed off between 2009 and 2011 :sadcam: I knew a few people that went to sales and I even tried to get back in 9 months later but for some reason, once you're a manager and leave, its hard to get back in.
