I feel the same way. Hundreds of millions for (yes, timeless historical, symbol) but still it just a building, and they have nothing for the underclass. Well, they can at least pray in Notre Dame. I was there in 2015, and I gave 40 euro to a gypsy beggar outside, and felt sick for a moment, seeing this woman, in all black, face covered, with her children, dirty hands and feet, in front of all these tourists.
