Stars are what matter to answer your question. More stars = higher stat cap and better equipment, abilities available

There's strategy. You do still have to be mindful of positioning and the weapon triangle. If you try to brute force, you will get fukked up quick. It is very much a dumbed down version of the game though

at higher levels, its pretty in depth actually

i still play it regularly. its got way better since release too

give it a chance, get past the early segments (and for fukks sake reroll if you don't get any 5 stars right out the gate) and its worth having on your phone for sure
