I know as of Dec 2011 Uncharted 2 sold over 5 million units. It's a bit hard to compare since Uncharted 2 been on sale since 2009 but then on the other hand, Tomb Raider has been on sale for one year on 3 platforms and 2 months on 2 more platforms.

Keep it real my G I said the same thing about the supposed positive leaks about Xbox.

From where I stand the only thing the insiders get "right" are things anyone who pays enough attention to the industry could guess, and most of the leaks are of a nature that they can never be proven/disproven.

The insiders themselves don't even know if the information they got is correct. Anytime information is passed through multiple parties each with their own individual motives, the information will be wildly inaccurate before it makes it to you.

And you can't pretend the dude who runs furiousfanboys.com doesn't have an agenda.

So no I don't think we should consider what they say, even if it could be right. Cause it just fuels them and gives them a larger platform to spew garbage.

This is my first post on NeoGAF, and whilst I'm not generally one to deal in internet speculation, I have to put the record straight with regard to Pete Dodd's comments above.

Everything he has said with regard to myself and Driveclub is incorrect. It's also libellous.

As Putty (who is a personal friend of mine, and has been for about 25 years) suggests, I left Evo in February for personal reasons. The personal reasons being that my son, who is 4 years old, has been diagnosed with Nephrotic Syndrome, which is a potentially life threatening condition. I live 220 miles (4 hours drive) away from Evolution Studios, and was away from home 5.5 days a week. Given the circumstances, I could not continue to work there.

Driveclub is a great game, and the direction hasn't changed since my departure. This has been confirmed by SONY in various press releases over recent days.

I have no problem in dealing with very large projects, as I've been working in the games industry for the last 19 years, and have worked on some very prestigious titles, so there is genuinely no truth to anything posted by Mr Dodds at all. My departure (and indeed the setup of my 'indie' operation, BigRedSwitch) is 100% driven by family necessity, not some professional failing on my part.

I left SONY on very good terms. There is no animosity there, and I was absolutely nothing to do with the recent redundancies - in fact, the news of those redundancies was probably linked on here before I knew about them.

The games industry is a tough place at the moment. My circumstances with my son mean that I've had to leave secure work in order to try to make my own way in the world. This may entail getting another job. With people who obviously know nothing about the situation blackening my reputation for the sake of internet 'fame', this could be made much more difficult. It's nothing less than trolling.

I've contacted Mr. Dodd on his email address on his site. Due to the factual inaccuracy of his statements, I've informed him that he needs to remove the statements and apologise for the damage they have caused, as posting incorrect information and claiming it's true is quite simply libel.

I'm sure you can all appreciate just how difficult things are for myself and my family at the moment. I'd genuinely appreciate it if you can take my statements as word from the origin, and realise that there has been no big cover-up when it comes to my departure from SONY/Evo.

This is why we shouldn't take "insiders" seriously they are playing with people's lives, all for Internet fame. They add nothing of value to the industry as a whole and I wish people would start ignoring them so they will go away

shyt, Tomb Raider half the time was trying to do its best Uncharted impression with the chaotic set pieces and shyt.

The environment, interaction with Lara and the environment, the detail when it came to Lara going from some recent college grad looking chick to John McClane at the end of a Die Hard flick, the action. Tomb Raider perfected what Naughty Dog was attempting to do with Drake in UC3. Now mind you, UC is one of my favorite series , I just think that Tomb Raider made them go back to the drawing board when in comes to detail.

UC3 multiplayer is better than UC2 multiplayer and its not even up for debate.
When it first dropped, it played different. BETTER. But fake gamers such as yourself and the majority of the sony fanbase
They was like "if its different, I'm a pure fakkit :wrist" and eventually Naughtydawg patched in a way to play like the old mode or new style
Other than that debate, everything else was improved upon in UC3 multiplayer. It even had the old levels included later on
You didn't die as quickly, everything was better. Campaign wasn't as good as UC2's only cuz of the lack of bosses
The campaign overall was still very stellar

Lardass already said 5mil. Uncharted 3 didn't sell that much. It didn't even sell nearly as much as was reported
Sony said nothing for the longest, then said 3.4mil first day

Then they gave away the campaign for free as well. And then PS+ finished the deal even tho its even now a free to play game
