I don't think that the Liberty are worth $677 million lol. However, Joe Tsai is the owner of the Liberty (and also owns the Nets) and he has deep pockets. He's worth over $7 billion.

He could definitely build a facility like this for the Liberty. He rented chartered flights for the team back in 2021, but the Liberty organization got fined $500K for it (the WNBA doesn't allow chartered flights in its collective bargaining agreement).

Stuff like that is why so many WNBA players (like Brittney Griner) head overseas to play when the WNBA isn't in session. They get paid way more and have more luxuries playing outside of North America
