From what I heard the estate holds onto Jimi's legacy very tightly, to the point multiple biopics fell through because they wanted final say on how he's depicted. From a production standpoint this movie has a bit too much in common with the independent Rolling Stones biopic Stoned (about the early days involving Brian Jones, which also featured no music by the band itself), a movie that was utterly terrible, so my expectations are a bit low to begin with.

Think about how good Ray is...now imagine it with slightly off key music with Jamie doing the covers . fukk a cover show the family the edited film (in a private screening) and ask them how much is it gonna take to get the music for the film, even if it means you gotta change some shyt in the film.
