First day back soreness

That first day back in the gym is a roller coaster of feeling.

5-6 weeks tending to pregnant wife and newborn, feeling :flabbynsick:

walk in the gym on some :stylin: 'ish

Go hard for a hour and some change... :ahh:

Think about the layoff, go another hour. My mind was like :takedat: and my body was like :ufdup:

Woke up this morning :to: everything hurts. I took a shower and a bath. Bengay and all. I messed up bad. Trying to stretch. Any remedies? Went back today. Went with lower weight and higher reps. Maybe I should have stuck with the 5x5 program. Trying to move too fast.

Foam rollers...use frequently. Fish oil supps for the inflammation. Light cardio for 15 mins every day till the doms eases.

Give it some days, it'll all go away. Stay active so it won't come back.

I have chronic back problems, and I find that swimming helps with back pain the best. Also, watch out for your form during certain exercises.

I love the soreness, lets you know you gave your body that work :ohlawd:

I feel wierd that I get soreness after nearly EVERY work out, no matter how often I do it. :ohhh:

Its good to have a indoor workout plan. Some jump rope, jumping jacks, pushups, 'Insanity'-type backup workout routine when you can't hit the gym
