these films (like the "it" remake) are going off the actual novel, not the original films. its hardly even a remake tbh.



besides, some of these old films are being held at a higher regard than they should be. Carrie is obviously an important movie because of the blood scene and its effect on pop culture or whatever, but its really not a good movie.

what made the original so awesome was also the fact that it took place in the 70s, thats one vibe these movies cant catch, her mom sitting in the fukking attic, the closeup of the jesus at the end, there is certain vibe you cant recapture in todays film when it comes to that stuff.
