No surprise really. Although I will always maintain that Whiplash got a bit overpraised, it was evident that Chazelle had next. Side-note: the new trailer dropped too and it definitely offers a better look at the film than the first trailer did.
Glad Chazelle is doing something different, Gosling probably gonna kill it

I wasn't interested in this one, but how angry it's made Trump CACs the last couple days has made me want to at least throw a couple ticket buys its way.
Why are they mad?
The film doesn’t show the planting of the flag (though it does show it already planted, not that they believe it) and Gosling is Canadian.
It’s not fukk Yeah, AmeriKKKa! enough for em basically and they’re really in their feeling about it. They even want to have flag protests outside theaters when it’s released.

Just got my ticket to this on my break at work. The only thing stopping me from seeing this tonight is if I get there too late. Usually have to get there an hour early. Have to go home and let my dog out and pick up my cousin. So I'll probably get there 45 min prior.

Yeah the el royale screening is free at the Alamo but that shyt is at 930 on a Wednesday night about an hour away from me. Meaning I wouldn’t get home till almost 1. shyt hurt my soul to turn that down
Also I’ve got a screening for this tonight...not going lol. I know I’m going to see this but man I really just have little interest in the subject matter because I’ve seen this story so many times. I’m tired of seeing the narrative of the great white guy who did this great thing. I love space stories especially ones about exploration and this kinda shyt should be perfect for me. But I’ve been told this story since I was a kid and I guess I’m just apathetic to it right now.
