Because my pop played the shyt out of that song in the car and I thought that song wasn't hip-hop at the time, I thought it was some old soulful bullshyt music cause I was young and didn't understand at all. He usually plays the The Message, Planet Rock, etc but I was actually dig The Message because of the beat and the flow and I didn't care the lyrics at all, at the time until I getting grow , I started to understand the music.....then I go back to listen to it and was like now I understand why my pop loves that songs.
