Women who can salsa good got alot of flexibility
That’s interesting—did you grow up in an area with a huge presence of Latin culture? I’ve been to a few salsa clubs and had fun for sure, but never would have sought them out if not for a friend I had that was dating a Latin man.
It is a very intimate, but fast flirty type of dancing so I can see what you mean when you describe why you enjoy it.
Good for you. Shyness can be a limit but only if you allow it.
To be honest, I don’t know other brehs that do the classes, so I was genuinely curious. Do you like Latin culture overall—I know you like the women, and the dancing, but I’m assuming your into the culture and perhaps the dancing is another Segway into the culture.
I have no idea what bachata music is, might have to look up to hear what that sounds like.
How much were these lessons?
My girlfriend keeps wanting me to do this more with her. She actually could have done dance professionally if she stayed with it. She can do salsa, bachata, tap dancing, and she was in ballet for years. It's fun but I'm super left brained and feel like it's something else for me to learn BUT I'm gonna have to do it more for my girl.

One of my biggest regrets is not taking salsa with this Spanish chick on base when she invited me....October update.
I'm eating effortlessly outchea, just off bachata and merengue. Both of which are Dominican dances, so it makes sense.
I've got a roster of 3 chicks right now, I met one in a bachata class and the other two while out dancing.
I've gotten a good reputation at the club all of a sudden, now when a bachata song comes on, women run up to me and basically pull me on to the dance floor. I barely have to ask anymore.
A new chick I met while out dancing texted me this morning. She said she wants me to come over so we can practice sensual bachata together![]()

You better do it before Enrique from dance class starts moving up on her.My girlfriend keeps wanting me to do this more with her. I am African-American, but I identify most closely with Latino culture. Mostly from my childhood in the Hispanic part of town
Here's a bachata dance video I really like. This is more Dominican style
Here is a sensual bachata style. This one is choreographed, but many of these moves can be thrown into a social dance bachata at a club depending on the partner. My dance partner/FWB and I are practicing a choreographed routine
Some places cost $10 a lesson, others cost $15 a lesson. There are also package deals where you can buy 5 or 10 lessons for a discounted price per lesson. Private lessons are closer to $90, I've never taken a private lesson but they can help a lot as you become more advanced. I have found a dance partner that I practice with a few times a week.
If you don't dance with her, she'll just dance with other dudes. If that does not bother you, then you don't necessarily need to learn. I would suggest learning dance with her, though.
The way they move their hips says it all!

Would be nice to change that and hit the Latin clubs solo and have some fun

Bachata is easier, but it will help to take both bachata and salsa classes because your skill in one will help you with the other. You have so many more options being near Chicago. You're lucky!I've been wanting to try Bachata for the longest. I'm a big stiff non dancing dude thoughWould be nice to change that and hit the Latin clubs solo and have some fun
Near Chicago, gone look into some classes, though I could probably find something closer.
Post some jointsbachata is >>> btw.... music is dope too

This is a first for me, brehs! Last night I made a woman have a change of heart just because I can dance.
I approached a Mexican chick asking her to dance. She immediately looked annoyed and she said she doesn't dance salsa. She probably didn't think I could dance especially since I'm a black man...she was making that stank face like she just smelled a fart or something. I held my ground and asked her if she dances bachata, she said yeah so I said I'd find her later. She just rolled her eyes. She was very dry in conversation too, so I let her be.
I could tell she didn't like me for whatever reason, but I didn't let it fukk with me. A bachata song came on later and I asked her to dance. She didn't even put down her bag, she still had her damn purse on her shoulder
Basically, if a woman holds on to her drink/bag/purse when she dances with you, she doesn't really want to dance. So I went with it, she immediately started to smile when she realized that I could dance. She went to give her bag to her friend, came back and we danced for 5-6 songs in a row
She straight up told me afterward that she didn't expect me to know how to dance. And she was really cheerful and having good conversation with me afterward, but it's crazy how quick her perspective of me changed
