The topic should've never been discussed in the first place, they were talking about his comments towards the female ref and she brought up the black father narrative. In her mind people keep making excuses for him because he's there for his kids and cares about them, and not because we see them trying to tear him down at every turn.

He's a great dad and he actually coaches his sons, he's making sure they achieve their dream and that's what great fathers do. You can never praise mothers too much for anything, but anytime a father gets praise he's hit with "you're suppose to do that".

- raised three kids to be exceptional at a sport/discipline'
- raised three honor rolls students
- created a brand that will act as a financial nest for their future

If you think Lavar is a great father, no one is disagreeing for the most part. Just don't use him being a great father as an excuse for the things he says. Don't give him a pass you wouldn't give anyone else.

From what I understand it was more about the bar being set so low with the narrative that black men don't have fathers in their lives and that cats like Lavar are looked at like Unicorns and shyt which is ignorant and true. thing is, there was no pressure being put on Lonzo. Him and his brothers dealt with their dad's antics from Day 1. They laugh at that crazy nikka half the time knowing he just talking shyt and being jokey. When Lonzo pretty much exposed that fact, you had people with bad dad Lavar agendas who couldn't let go of their belief that he was "hurting" his sons when in fact, it was more the opposite and wasn't true.
