yes, listing some songs/projects via text or maybe dropping 1-2 videos, but no need to drop a bunch of videos making the thread hard to load

There's a thread with 2097 pages all videos you'll be alright

Is hip hop dead? NO

Is music cooked? NO

Are we all just too far into our own algorithms? maybe

And Cole being boring isn't anything new

Came to the conclusion long ago that stickied threads don't mean a thing. The amount of albums released by big artists that don't get stickied is a lot but there's often gossip threads or ones that outstay their welcome.

Is hip hop dead? Is music cooked? Are we all just too far into our own algorithms? Or is this just another sign of how dead the coli is with closed registration, locked out posters, and most of us being :old:?

What are you listening to these days?

Me, finally got to Cole’s album - boring, and Wale’s - great, this past weekend. Will listen to Jill Scott today.
Honestly, there is nothing going on in hip hop right now other than "The War on 50" and rappers that went to jail arguing over PC

Albums come and go. Somebody has to break the ice and make a true modern day classic. The last 2 that fit the build based on what I've seen and not my personal opinion are the Clipse and Freddie Gibbs/Alchemist albums. J. Cole was highly anticipated but I don't think he truly met expectations and he already had a lot going against him after bowing out the Drake/Kendrick situation

I call "The War on 50" the highlight of hip hop right now. We get 2-3 diss records aimed at 50 Cent per week. Any 50 related thread does the most #s these days and I'd assume he's the most disliked on here as well, but ironically he gets the most engagement

Aside from T.I., who has an album coming soon? I literally have no idea

Everyone really is into their own algoryhtm though

Having song radio on Spotify puts you onto top tier music from dudes that aren't even known in the community like that at all..

I'd rather listen to that shyt then all these known projects these days.
We have been slowly transformed into a playlist society instead of an album one

We went from 8-10 min rap songs in the 80s to 3 verse songs in the 90s to 1-2 verse songs now with no hook even necessary

It’s on a matter of time where only the intro of the song will be enough lol

yea music is cooked.

its not art anymore its a tech product.

no soul. no creativity. there has been no advancement in grooves or sounds in a decade.

been real.

Every Friday reddit hip-hop heads put out a list of releases , mixtapes, singles (which is why I post the shyt).

I think people gravitate towards the stuff they gravitate towards not realizing it's this, this and this.

Everyone’s just tired of negativity. No albums get me hyped for more than a week.

The big album rollouts is a bygone era
