Thinking about it this morning, sometime in '94 friend of mine was telling me bout a group outta NYC. I was heavy on my Cube/ west coast shyt at the time. Yeah , so he let me borrow a tape. Ol' Dirty - Brooklyn Zoo was the first song i ever heard from them. After that it was a wrap. Was all about the Wu...

It was 1996, I was in 7th grade, and my friend let me borrow 36 Chambers. I remember bugging out to Clan In Da Front, and I've been a GZA stan since.

I had to catch up to all the Wu releases after that. I digested so much classic shyt in a 3 month period. :blessed:

I thought it would be like that forever brehs.:mjcry:

M.e.t.h.o.d. Man

Didn't realize there was 8 other dudes in the Crew.

:pachaha:

The beat was raw as hell and unlike anything I had heard of.

The only other producer to throw me for a loop like that would be timbaland with the rain song with missy elliot

1993, Wendy Williams playing Protect Ya Neck on Kiss FM. Kiss played it before Hot 97.

1997 probably. M.E.T.H.O.D Man was the joint that blew me away, and I became a Method Man fan primarily.

Heard it on the radio like 3 times one day, I said fukk that, got a blank tape and caught it on a mix and played that shyt til it I could go steal a copy from the store:laugh:

It was either C.R.E.A.M. on Teen Summit or M.E.T.H.O.D Man on Yo MTV Raps. I was a baby but ignorant rap shyt was always around me.

Wu Tang is for the babies!!!

My homie in the 7th grade had the tape, he dubbed like 5 onto maxell tapes. I was selling the tapes for 3 to 5 bucks

Sold like 3 and kids were mad hyped and i was lemme listen to this shyt im hussling....i was amazed and became a stan...i was heavy into snoop, onyx and other rappers...

Craziest thing about it all, 36th Chamber was released on my 12th birthday and best part about it all, I was able to tell RZA how i was introduced to the WU lol:hubie: he thought it was hilarious

To this day i can name tge 9 members government names :dame:

I use to read every fukking thing in the booklets:mjcry:

93, might have been early 94 I was at a mates place and he had an older homie down the street who used to buy EVERY rap cd at the store. He had a copy of 36 Chambers and we were listening to it while playing basketball. Bacdafucup was a big thing just before 36 Chambers too just like @mson said. But it was mainly Wu, Onyx and Death Row then Bone shortly thereafter.
