low key its amazing how jets went from having a shytty wr core with geno to a great core with fitz in a single year just off brandon marshall. if geno is the qb are they going back to the shytty core or nah ? just want to get the general sentiment before it happens

nobody actually thinks Geno is good. The dilemma the Jets have right now is basically a tough schedule and an older QB wanting to be paid. The trade off of not signing Fitz is basically tanking the season with a pu pu platter of Geno/Petty/Hackenberg. Idzik got canned after two years because the offense was a disaster. Maccagnan seems to have more equity built up with the fans, but going back to garbage at QB will be the quickest way out the door for him.(not that I think its right, we just have an impatient fanbase)

nah I just want to make sure everyone agrees the jets receiving core is strong so that sentiment doesnt change no matter who the qb is.

We wanted Geno to have a year of Marshall /Decker/Amaro /Devin Smith/ running game-- now with Forte just so we can come to a concrete conclusion. If he sucks, he sucks.
At this point, it's a matter of choosing how we're gonna fail next season, because regardless, it's gonna happen.
He sucks. No amount of weapons are going to help with the sacks and fumbles. Literally no QB in the history of the league started off as bad as Geno and turned out to be even serviceable. No amount of gifs are going to prove otherwise. He's got 29 starts and 50 turnovers.
I feel Ryan for wanting to get his money. He knows he probably wont have another season like he just did but with him not making the playoffs he doesn't have much leverage and it's not a good look that another team hasn't made a play for him as of yet.
That's funny considering it took Fitz 6 seasons to have more tds than ints.

See, y'all not seeing it from the right perspective. Fitz has all the leverage due to what the market value of a starting quarterback is. Jets fans love this guy, it would be a (PR) disaster if they didn't bring him back and started Geno Smith. I personally don't think he's that bad, but I'm not a Jets fan either. Denver wanted Kaep which I think most would agree is a better player and much younger.

Not clamoring for Fitz. But over the course of his career he's been hovering around average to below average. Geno's first two years were bottom 3 in the league. The drop off is significant.
If Maccagnan decides to go back to Geno or start Hackenberg, he's betting on himself having more job security than he thinks. Because the team is probably taking a step back regardless of who's QB. With rookie/Geno you're potentially looking at a disaster level offense again.
Fitz has been a bottom 5 qb his entire career with the exception of about 2 ok seasons.

Fitz has never made the playoffs his entire career,has been a bottom 5 qb for the majority of it,is coming off a 3 interception meltdown that cost the jets the playoffs and has not 1 single other team interested in him.
Jets don't have to bend an inch.
Go read jets forums and comments. The Fitz love is over. Fans have turned on him for demanding all that money
