He may not mean success wise, because Beyonce is successful in her own right. As far as quality some of these top singers like Beyonce, Rihanna and Christina, I feel like something is missing as far as quality (within the past 8 years).

Hopefully someone like Adele does not dwindle down the quality of her music for the wrong reasons, in which I doubt she would.
