I was in the 7th grade. We went to a nearby elementary school one day a week to tutor 1st graders. We were at the steps of the school when my own mom came out and told us the news (it was the early afternoon if I recall correctly).
Me: Hey mom, what you doin' here?(she was there for my little sister)
Mom: Guess what guys...OJ was found not guilty, he isn't going to jail

meanwhile the 4 white teachers was just 
dude, more blacks are graduating from college. More blacks own property. Less blacks are dying in our streets. Less blacks are in prison. More blacks own businesses. The metrics don't agree with you, breh. I think much of what you term as "worse" is the very real hostility that has erupted towards blacks in the wake of Obama's presidency. We shouldn't mistake white America's inability to recognize the legitimacy of Obama's office as regression. In spite of their hatred towards the man, we are improving as a community and the numbers speak to that. 



about our place in society. shyt is fukked up, but not anywhere near as bad as you're making it. I'm asking you to have a more positive outlook. Your current perspective will only depress you.
