The bottom of the Moon is obscured by the Earth's shadow. The reason you can see the Moon at that particular time and in that position is because it's orbit is tilted about 5 degrees relative to the Earth's orbit around the Sun..........

Climb a mountain and see for yourself like Pythagoras and Aristotle. They didn't need rockets to figure it out. Just a couple of mountains and a few bits of chalk.

You really don't have to go that high to get a sense of the curvature... astronauts get to see the full arc and the halo of the atmosphere, but if you've got any sort of maths brain (not talking degree level calculus here - people have known and understood this for thousands of years... the maths required is elementary school shyt), you only need to see a few degrees and you can see what's going on pretty easily. Hell, climb a handful of mountains, look in every direction at every horizon and prove it wasn't a fluke the first time. Learn to ski/snowboard and a lift will do the hard work while you enjoy the effects of alcohol at high altitude on posh white women or go hiking in Peru with gap year broads trying to experiment before they go to Princeton. It'd only take a few weeks, you'd have had a dope holiday and finally stop being out-thought by cavemen in the process.

But it's probably just easier to get your facts from social outcasts YouTube than it is to learn from your experiences.
