Hollins got a look because his son was a Gopher. He didn't get the job for 2 reasons:

1. They're gun shy about hiring an old ass candidate after what happened with Adelman. That's also why they never called George Karl.

2. By the time shyt turns around if it ever will, Hollins won't be around for it. They wanted a younger coach with experience. When every good one said no, enter Flip.
