I used to like Flip Saunders.. then he went 2 detroit and I seen them fall off.
Then he came 2 DC and imo did a horrible job
I knew he'd struggle back in Minnesota, and ironically they seem 2b prospering without him

With all these negative traits at his job position, I believe the reason he kept getting hired is because he seemed 2 genuinely be a good person. He actually cared for the people around him. That is something that is becoming more & more rare these days.
So in conclusion, I hated the coach, but respected the man :handshake:

R.I.P. Flip.... I think its time 2 let this thread go coli

I cant believe Kevin Mchale of all people didn't attend his service :upsetfavre: Anyway i had no idea flip was in Coma for six weeks prior to his death,:rip: flip
Really? I haven't heard of that either...

Why you neg me tho? I'm just keeping it real. I wasn't a fan of his coaching once he came to DC. Terrible job here
He came to Minnesota and they were terrible with him. You wanna give him credit for the team's success now?
Maybe in a "we'll play for our fallen coach" type of way. But as a coach, flip lost his touch years ago imo.
We have Randy Wittman who was on nobodies radar. He was such a vast improvement over flip that he's now considered good
Most Wizard fans know Randy is still a work in progress. I like that he tries unconventional things, but he gotta stop hating on Kris Humpries. Flip would do that too often here. Have a problem with a productive player and bench him.

Now with that said, this should not be the focal point. I just felt its better to be honest than to come in here acting like he was all world in that department. I know from how other players/etc talked about him (before he died) that he was a good dude.
This thread being stickied for so long is perplexing tho :manny:

He won over 50 games in every season with the d, Washington was a terrible situation that probably no coach would have been successful in. He came back to Minnesota rebuilt the team only coached for a season last year and has put together alot of talent since he has been running the team unfortunately didnt live long enough to get the credit for it.

Uh, Larry Brown made Detroit what they were. Flip took over a championship team and they steadily turned to shyt (fact)
DC was not a terrible situation. Maybe you are blind, but we one of the top destinations in the entire league as of today.. all started once he left town tho
Now you giving him credit for why Minnesota is 2/3-0? He came, then you lose your best player to Cleveland, D.Williams goes to NYC and looks decent. You got a young squad that will probably end up missing the playoffs again. Rubio was there before Flip, didn't do shyt with flip either. So what are you saying. That he got Wiggins? WHo was added to the roster over the last 2yrs that makes you say such things :wtf:
