Basically. Its always been like that.

Is a white/lightskinned more "marketable"? Probably so. Cuz i think most people, esp of other colors, would flock to and think a lightskinned woman is more attractive than a dark one .

BUT, women would see it the other way. A darkskinned man is looked at as "aggressive" and "masculine" etc so if u a rapper they'd flock to them, but nobody talks about that.

Many of rap superstars been darkskinned or brownskinned (2pac, Snoop, DMX, 50 Cent, Wayne etc) yet nobody complains about that
