I dont fukk with travis like dat I think hes a lame and an industry plant but u obviously dont go outside:

Rodeo debuted at number 3 on the US Billboard 200, moving 85,000 album-equivalent units, of which 70,000 are pure album sales.[23] It also debuted at number one on Billboard's Top Rap Albums chart.[24] As of November 2015, Rodeo has sold 110,000 copies in the United States.[25]

:dame:

My point still stands.

He's on a lower tier than Big Sean and that's saying a lot. :scust:

your stars are but dust on my shoes
Does industry plant basically mean the record label has faith in you to be big early. Like if they actually carry out artist development and that in new age terms you're an industry plant?

Honest question

I always perceived it to be an artificial push being handled by a major label. I/e when a new artist drops with high profile features, production, and is suddenly being covered by every major rap outlet. Plant.

15 years ago, they weren't counting streams as album sales either. :stopitslime:

With the push he's gotten, these numbers are wack.
80k was before they counted streams. He hasn't gotten any real push, working on Yeezus and dropping a hot tape (DBR) and single (Antidote) can do that to your career:ld:

This thread is about up-and-comers who the industry have given their stamp of approval to but have failed to achieve actual stardom.

For me, off the top of my head, these two immediately come to mind:

  1. Travis $cott: does this nikka even have an album out?:wtf: I don't know a single song of his. Is he even an artist or just a producer? Even Metro Boom, a producer, is more well-known than he is these days.
  2. Justin Mohrle: He's being built up to be the next Eminem and white Drake; they even gave him a high profile spot on that SOC soundtrack but his career appears to be DOA.:dame::russ:

Who are some other industry plants who embarrassingly flopped?
