I'm trying to understand how Asap, Mac Miller and Tyler sold more than Sean who is definitely suppose to be more popular than them at this point.
Because he's really not... only on the internet do cats even talk about Big Sean because he was SUPPOSED to be in the same league as Drake, Kendrick, Wale, Wiz Khalifa, J. Cole, etc... but he has never been able to grab fans which is why he's never had a successful single where he was the biggest artist. No I.D. knew what to do with Big Sean & put him in the studio to make bangers so people would know who he at least is & get his name out there cuz cats forget he's been signed to G.O.O.D. since about 2007 & has had several unsuccessful singles that had videos to them with features from the likes of Kanye. Nobody cared about Big Sean when he was dropping those FF mixtapes. Kendrick has solo hits, Wiz has solo hits, Drake has solo hits, J. Cole has solo hits... even Wale is the biggest artist on his biggest hit (Bad ft. Tiara Thomas but nobody knows who she is). Big Sean can't say that...
Even A$ap was able to grab a bunch of cats who followed his A$ap crew like a cult... Big Sean hasn't done that... he took the success of having 3 huge Singles off of his first album where he basically got carried by big name features & thought that meant people cared about HIM which is why when he dropped "Guap" as a Solo Single it peaked at #71 & moved backwards because nobody cares about him like that. He could've dropped "Beware" without Lil' Wayne if he was confident in his own fanbase but theres a reason he ran to get Wayne's name on the song...
