Broward County teachers accused of beating girl at Boynton Beach home
9-year-old had bruises, marks on legs, thighs, police say

• BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. - Two Broward County public school teachers were arrested Monday for beating a child at a Boynton Beach home, police said.
  
  According to an arrest report, a woman picked up the 9-year-old girl Monday night from after-school care and noticed that the girl had marks on her legs.

  Police said the child told the woman that Delvin Randolph, 36, and Stephanie Garcia, 33, had beaten her the night before at Randolph's home.
  
  The woman took the girl to her mother's house, where she further examined the injuries, noticing bruising on the front of both of the girl's legs.
  
  Police said the woman brought the child to the police station to file a report.
  
  Officers photographed the child's injuries, and said that she had bruises and marks on her thighs.
  
  Police went to the couple's home to question them about the beating.
  
  Police said Randolph spoke for himself and Garcia after they were read their rights and said that they would not make any statements to detectives until he speaks to an attorney.
  
  Randolph and Garcia were taken to jail on a child abuse charge. Authorities have not released the relationship between all of the adults mentioned in the case and the child.
  
  Broward County Public Schools spokeswoman Cathleen Brennan said in an email to Local 10 News that Randolph was first hired in October 2005 as a substitute teacher and currently works as a social sciences teacher at Everglades High School.
  
  She said Garcia was hired in August 2005 as a temporary teacher at various locations and is currently an exceptional student education teacher at South Plantation High School.
  
  Brennan said the teachers' employment statuses have not changed "pending final adjudication."

I did sensationalize it. Tacky but I think they just beat someone's child and left marks.
