This sounds like one of those crimes where the only way they can get you is a total confession

Brehs it was a whole year. I think after your kid come home wet 2 days in a row you can get suspicious. Sounds like there was a long period of observation. For example them saying the sprinklers were only activated as the kids came around. Makes it hard to play it off as a coincidence. Hence the surveillance/stalking charge. He was monitoring the kids. They could extrapolate that much.
