Florida poster claims that drill music only stays in the tri state so I did some research on Florida rap. My conclusions are in the thread

Brooklyn keeps on taking it.
:childplease:Y’all are legit the most delusional people ever. I was just up there a week ago visiting my brother. In the south we don’t listen to y’all music because we don’t like it. Not because we hating. Because it legit sounds like trash to us. We really don’t be thinking about y’all at all. Y’all still think it’s the 90s or something. It’s weird. We been relevant for a very long time now. Y’all the only ones that had fell off for a long while before reaching some success now which is good for y’all
You literally proved his entire point

:dead:

bruh the vast majority of the south is irrelevant in hip hop except Atlanta and Memphis and there’s a list of NY rappers can sell out shows down there.

Wassup with you southern dudes lying on the internet in 2022 when we can easily debunk all of it.

I think y'all got it misconstrued. In that thread they were referring to the Brooklyn drill sound that belongs to the UK grime scene. That particular sound of drill is not as big outside of the Tri-State area.

I'm from Houston, and said outside of the joint Sauce Walka did while he was NY, you really ain't gonna find artists from here doing it, or people from here listening to it.

Just like when Screw was killing the 3-4 southern state area. Nobody was fukkin with it outside of that initially. When 05-07 happened, people recognized and went back to listen to the old shyt and that reached far and wide and end up jump starting the whole ASAP run

Sauce Walka was living in nyc dikkriding every single NY rapper when he made that tape.

Who is y'all?

:mjtf:

Let's keep it all the way funky then. Rocky was the only rapper popping in NY at the time and had the whole NY on his shoulders. The ASAP Mob had a sound. Where was their sound mainly derived from? The Screw sound originating from Houston. He even had a song dedicated to Houston. He also credited portions of his flow from Bone Thugs.

Maybe inside NY, this looks different at the time. Outside of NY, at the time, he WAS NY. Just like now, inside Houston, we got Sauce, Maxo, Megan, Tobe with the biggest names. We ain't never had just ONE person you can put over the whole city like that since Scarface in the early 90s.

This wasn't a knock on NY in any way. I was actually acknowledging that we had 1 rapper that was on the NY drill shyt

I’ll give you a pass for being a realist

But This thread is about southern cats making claims that are not backed up by facts.

and it’s funny cause no matter how many facts you show a southern cat they always think their “ignorance” reigns supreme

Brooklyn keeps on taking it.
Chicago is independent, but LONDON jack everything from Americans and Jamaicans most specifically.
Most of the top Chicago rappers still have Ny rappers as their influence.

The whole Go Glang always shouts out 50 cent as their influence.

There’s videos of Fredo Santana screaming out Dipset when he was younger RIP lol
