This is why I’m in favor of surveillance cameras in every classroom. Call his parents, show them the tape of their child disrupting the class, and tell them if their son can’t respect authority and behave, they can’t come to school.

Teachers are already expected to do more than teach the curriculum.

It's insane how this all works. If I were the kid's parents, I'd drop all the charges...apologize to the teacher, then I'd have my kid apologize to him....

I once forged my parents signature on a bad report card in middle school....the school caught it, and called my dad down there...once he he came back from talking with them..he came back home and instantly grabbed me by the neck of my shirt and slammed me up against the wall and was nose to nose with me...the next day I was told to apologize to the assistant principle...and i never gave them another problem like that again.

My son had always been the class clown at school So he was talking repeatedly in class, then the teacher said something and my son got smart. The teacher threw an eraser at him, my son called home. I did nothing, i didnt even go up there because i know how my son is

The right procedure did happen, and that’s the problem... there isn’t a process to remove someone that is impeding every one else’s progress except to physically remove that person if they aren’t cooperating.

yeah actually there is, and it doesn’t include physically putting your hands on a student who doesn’t pose a physical threat. that’s why the teacher was charged.

The cac has a record of violence, so I am not sure why he is allowed to teach. I recently left teaching after nine years. You have to get several background checks to be a teacher, and I know my black ass wouldn't have had a job with a blemished record. Due to him being a cac, he will still have plenty of opportunities in life after this, so I have no sympathy for him.

HOWEVER, fukk this kid. I have dealt with countless a$$hole kids like this. I can't tell you how many times I have wanted to put hands on kids, but my professionalism prevailed. Parents: if you're gonna send your kids to school, then at least teach them basic respect. I used to tell kids straight up, "If you refuse to learn anything while you're here, then don't come." I don't think school should be compulsory. Let lil b*stards like this run the streets during the day, and let the pigs deal with them.
