A Florida teacher resigned amid controversy after having her students fill out a “privilege form” for a class assignment.

Yoselis Ramos, who taught Spanish at Monroe Middle School in Hillsborough County School District, was suspended last week for giving a “how privileged are you?” questionnaire to her students, USA Today reports.

Ramos said the forms, which asked students to circle descriptions of their disability status, religion, gender identity and sexual orientation, were designed to teach students about diversity, but parents complained to the school’s principal about the assignment.

Ramos resigned Thursday after an investigation by the school district found she had caused a disruption, was teaching outside the district’s curriculum and had offended families with the lesson.
